A kid's playroom can be one of the messiest, most disorganized spaces in every home, and for this client, they not only needed organizational elements to store their kid’s toys. With a slanted wall to maneuver, standard shelving couldn’t fit in this space, requiring a custom design that could still hide away as many toys as possible.
The first challenge with this space was the slanted wall. To combat this, our team built a staircase-style cabinet design to accommodate the angled ceiling. This style still made the most of the space, allowing for shelving from top to bottom, and open space at the top of the cabinets to store even more items.
Next, the client needed more than just open shelving to store all the toys, books, and miscellaneous items in the playroom. To do so, we dedicated the majority of the lower half of the shelving unit to drawers and baskets to keep everything organized. The drawers were ideal for storing away less visually-appealing toys or little knick-knacks, while the baskets helped to store similar items together where the kids could easily grab them.
Despite the unique ceiling design and tight space, we were able to build a custom shelving unit to keep all the toys in place, with room for growth and adjustment as the kids grow up.
